Jesus said… I’m straight on Rihanna and MAC Collaboration!

When Rihanna and MAC dropped RiRi Woo last month I was one of those people that stalked MAC’s website and waited for 30 minutes for the page to load for me to buy the matte red lipstick. I was uber excited because I love Riri’s style and “adventurous” fashion choices and I just knew this lipstick would be everything. Yeah umm about that!!!

RiRi Woo is a “super dupe” (coined a new termย  :-D) of Ruby Woo. When put side to side the differences are barely noticeable. My girl Christina from did this comparison and if I was 5 feet away from you I would not be able to tell the difference.ย riri-woo-vs-ruby-woo

So I basically have NO faith Heaux, RiRi Boy, or the bronzer blush duo! You probably have something similar in your collection and “you ain’t even know it!” ๐Ÿ˜† MAC stays “repromoting” some ish and having people think it’s something new. For instance,ย ย RiRi Boy is a retro matte that’s a “lavender” color. MAC’s Amp Up and Mac’s Heroine are close enough. If you are looking for a more affordable option Covergirl’s Lip Perfection Divine (which I have) will also do the trick!ย covergirl-lip-perfection-divineSo do yourself a favor and do not waste your time today at 12pm EST waiting on this collection! Jesus TOLD ME it ain’t worth it Ms. Cecily!!! LMAO

No, but for real…are you going to buy it? ๐Ÿ˜

  • I haven’t bought any of the other ones and I sure as hell am not buying this one. But I’m also not one of those people that has to have the latest Jordans or the latest MK bag. Jesus told me to spend my money on finger nail polish deals!

    • Right, see I’m with you on that! lol

  • I reeeeeeeeally want Heaux. But Temptalia just did a comparison to Rebel ( and it’s practically the same thing. Sooooooo to dupe or not to dupe, that is the question.

    • Then get it, if you don’t already have something like it. For me the issue is I have most of them and it’s a waste of time!

      • Nahhhh! I think I’ll dupe and spend the extra $$$ on nail polish! lol

  • Hello, first time here. Yes, but the dupes won’t be the same quality. There is a difference in formula quality between drug store brands and high-end brands. I’m all caught up in the collection; I have Riri Woo (never owned Ruby Woo) and I am patiently awaiting the delivery of Riri Heaux and Riri Boy. ๐Ÿ™‚

I posted an article earlier today addressing the benefits of high-end/luxury vs. drug store.

    • Yes I definitely understand that…but some of the dupes are within MAC itself. Check out Tempalia’s blog for her dupes. MAC’s Amp Up is so close to RiRi Boy. Hope you like them when they come.

      • Ohhhkay, I saw the Cover Girl lipstick pictured. I think I will like them as I don’t have a lot of MAC lipsticks including Amp Up, thank you so much.

Ooo and I was all sad I might have missed the RiRi Boy, I’ll wait. TOo many people were upset about the Ruby Woo dupe

  • Although, I respect your views, I am excited about Riri woo, Riri Boy and Heaux. I have Riri Woo from the first promo and Riri Boy and Heaux are on its way. I forgot about the second promotion and missed the bronzer/blush. Yes Jesus I already own Ruby Woo, Herione and Amp. MAC is makeup artistry meets corporate world. What they do well is promotion. Yes Jesus I buy into it. I probably own products from almost every promotion from the past 3 years. 60% of my stash is probably still in packaging. But Jesus, I am in the fashion and beauty business. Like you, I keep an eye on fashion and beauty. But the masses don’t operate like you and I. The majority of those who purchased Riri Woo probably don’t own Ruby Woo. BTW Ruby Woo is matte and much more drying than Riri Woo. Up until you mentioned the Herione and Amp up comparison I didn’t know that they were very similar. But I am excited to hear, because Amp Up is one of my favorites. Pink Popcorn, Candy Yum Yum and my old favorite MOXIE. Like I said I bought the collection to host a giveaway. Yes, girl I bought an extra tube for myself. I know women can wear Maybelline vivids, Cover girl and all those other drug store favorites. I have ran out and purchased those drugstore favorites that many claim to be a great dupe. I am always disappointed in the Maybelline, cover girl, B&H, NYX and other lower end brands. I understand MAC isn’t for everyone. Not everyone is interested in paying $20 for a tube of lipstick. But there are plenty of us who are out here who buy into the brand. Maybelline and NYX have their target market as does MAC. Speaking of Rihanna! I am a huge fan, I love her persona and her style. Guess what? I have seen her in concert twice. She’s not the best dancer or the best singer. I relate to her style and her persona. It is relatable. Like MAC, MAC is mid range brand, that are always promoting and recreating. Those of us who buy into the brand, identify with the image. We buy not for value, we buy because how things make us feel. Business 101. In closing, if you are interested, check me out on twitter. I will be promoting a giveaway of all three of the Rihanna lipsticks in next week or so. TheFashionistachic.

    • Thanks for such an involved comment. There are SO many different brands of makeup/lipstick/whatever that people can choose what they like! I agree with MAC being good at sales. Hope you picked something you liked. Enjoy it. ๐Ÿ˜€
