Texting and driving is a huge issue, especially among teens and adults. Last night my friend Afrobella and I hosted a “Polish Party” at Mojo Spa in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood to bring awareness to the ItCanWait campaign and to encourage people to stop texting and driving. IT CAN WAIT. As a “reformed serial offender” I am glad to be apart of this campaign with AT&T.

My friends tracked through a crazy storm to be apart of this event and I’m SO  glad they made it out! Check out a few snapshots from the event below.

My son was involved in a real bad car accident which ended up breaking his leg because the other driver was on his phone; since then I took the pledge; no texting while driving!

I have been in an accident due to someone not paying attention to the road, and looking at their phone….and luckily we both made it out unscathed. All that drama over someone texting….it’s not worth it.

I have and I definitely need to Never do it again. Now that I have kids, I always worry that there are kids in the cars next to me.

Texting and driving is a big NO NO in my book. I am so glad my teenager isn’t driving yet.

  • Elizabeth Parker

I usually do not, unless I am at a red light – but I should probably stop in that case, too. I always worry about what would happen if someone were to slam into me or have an accident at that moment.

  • melan26

I don’t text. I prefer to be concentrating on driving since it’s not only me that’s driving, there are others out there that I may cause harm to.

  • Stephanie Dickerson

No, I don’t text and drive. I do constantly harp on my sister about this, though. I even sing the catchy tune from a commercial that’s been stuck in my head since first seeing it on t.v. “Don’t text and drive, if you wanna stay alive…Don’t text and drive!” — hey, whatever gets her to put down the phone, right?!?
