Google’s annoucement last week to end Google Reader had me all up in my feelings! I use Google Reader daily individually and as an add-on for Flipboard. I hate that I have to use something else. My fellow techie Brothatech listed 4 Google Reader Alternatives, which includes Feedly, Pulse, Reeder, and The Old Reader.

Apparently the folks at Feedly claim that 500,000 people have switched from Google Reader to Feedly. BrothaTech says “Feedly offers a clean and modern (and free) iOS, Android, and Chrome app with similar features that does a good job of curating your feeds, and suggesting new ones, without all distractions that come with other services.” Other sites have put Feedly on the “RSS throne” so I’ve downloaded it and I’m just waiting for a moment where I can set it up adequately.
While reading over the articles I think they mostly missed out on a good RSS reader in Bloglovin‘. Over the past week I’ve gotten a few notifications from people following, which means they are thinking about the move as well. I have used bloglovin’ and the interface is fairly clean which in my eyes makes it a great alternative because one of my contention points with Google Reader was it was so cumbersome.
So here the geek being helpful…LINK UP! Leave a link to your Bloglovin’ profile or just RSS feed so we can keep up once Google Reader dies this summer.
