So I’m going.. thanks to AT&T who is sponsoring.
I got started in the tech industry about 8 years ago while still in college. One of the first things I noticed was the lack of people who “looked like me!” In the past couple of years, a few of the major players in the industry like Google, IBM, Facebook, and others have begun investing millions of dollars in an attempt to correct this. This year Black Enterprise is jumping in the mix!
Black Enterprise will be hosting the first ever TechConneXt Summit in starting Monday October 12-13. The summit will be held in Silicon Valley at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, California. The event is a place in where employees can network, connect with other tech professionals, potentially find funding for businesses, and engage lead tech companies.
Some of the topics covered will include “BE Smart Hackathon: Technology App Creation”, “BE Tech Talk: A Conversation with a Silicon Valley Powerhouse”, “BE Tech Talk: Investing in Millennial Tech Stars”, “How to Deliver a Powerful Pitch to Investors” amongst many more.
I’m excited to be attending this event and covering for you all. I excited to here from some of the industry’s leading people like Kevin Johnson, the first African American mayor of the City of Sacramento. Along with Caretha Coleman, Chairman of the Board for Dignity Health; Ken Coleman, Chairman of Saama Technologies; Emeka Anen, CEO and founder of THRONE; Stacy Brown-Philpot, COO of TaskRabbit and many many more.
